Celebrating Claire's Milestone Birthday and Reflecting on Our Journey

Last week, we celebrated a very special milestone – Claire’s 40th birthday! This momentous occasion offers us a perfect opportunity to reflect on Claire's remarkable journey, which has profoundly influenced our company and the hospitality and events industry.

Claire’s passion for hospitality and events began early, inspired by her stepmum's café. After earning a 2:1 in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Oxford Brookes University, she moved to London and started her career with High Society, an event staffing agency. Over the next decade, Claire gained invaluable experience at various event venues, hotels, and bespoke event suppliers, including BMA House, The Grove, Create Food & Party Design, and Pinstripes & Peonies. She then consulted for several start-up caterers before transitioning to recruitment in 2018.

In 2020, Claire co-founded HELP Recruitment with industry peer Joanne Oakley. They shared a passion for the industry and its people, realizing that genuine care for individuals was often missing in recruitment. Their mission was to fill that gap with HELP Recruitment.

Under Claire’s leadership, HELP Recruitment has grown into a dynamic team of four, becoming a familiar name in the Hospitality and Events industry. We proudly sponsored the London Venue & Catering Awards in 2023 and 2024. Claire's dedication to clients and candidates is evident in testimonials like that of Emma Hutter, who says, “Having worked with HELP Recruitment as a candidate, there was no other recruiter I was going to use when looking to expand my own team.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Claire is a mentor to many, including her three young stepchildren. Her guidance has shaped numerous careers in our industry. As recent candidate Kemar Morrison notes, “Claire is a shining example of professionalism, dedication, and genuine care.”

As we celebrate Claire’s birthday, we also look forward to the future. Claire envisions HELP Recruitment leading with innovation and integrity, driving the Hospitality and Event Recruitment Industry forward with new ideas and flexible practices. Claire says, "HELP Recruitment is going through an exciting period of growth. I am delighted to recently have Caitlin and Bronwyn join the team and look forward to working closely with our candidates and clients to create a recruitment agency that puts people first."
